Position
We would rather publish an awkward number than buy a badge
Making clothing costs energy, water and freight. A recycled shell is better than a virgin one; no new shell at all is better than both. Nothing on this page is an argument that buying from us is good for the planet — only that it is a materially better version of a purchase you were going to make anyway.
True today

100% recycled input
Across shells, membranes, insulation and knits. Verified at mill level, not estimated at brand level.

Monomaterial construction
Every garment in the current range can be recovered whole, without being cut apart first.

PFC-free finishes
Across the entire range, including the three-layer shells, with no exceptions held back for performance lines.

Repair for life
We repair anything we made, for as long as it can be repaired, and take it back when it cannot.
Not finished
Open problems we have not solved
Freight
We ship by road inside Europe and by sea where we can, but we still air-freight to cover late deliveries, and that is the single worst line in our footprint. We have not eliminated it.
Dyeing
Dyeing recycled polyester is water- and energy-intensive. We have cut the palette to reduce lot changes, which helps at the margin. It is not a solution.
Microfibres
Synthetic fabric sheds when washed, ours included. We recommend a filter bag and infrequent washing, which shifts responsibility to you. We are not comfortable with that answer.
Volume of returns
Online apparel returns are a real emissions cost. Better size guidance is the only lever we have found that works, and ours is still not good enough.
Not claiming
Three things we do not say
Carbon neutral. We do not buy offsets in order to use the phrase.
Circular. The loop only closes if garments actually come back. Most do not yet, and that is on us to fix, not to claim.
Sustainable. A company that manufactures and ships physical goods is not sustainable. It can be less damaging, and it can be honest about the difference.
